Task (20 mins)

Before starting to write your CV take your time to jot down the information you will include. You might need to make some changes.

  1. Start by writing down your contact details, name, address, contact phone numbers, email address.
  2. Double check your email address - is it appropriate for a CV? Is it difficult to type/remember? SexyScott@hotmail.com probably wouldn't look good on a CV, you might need to create a new email address.
  3. Education - write down all of the subjects you are taking GCSE's in and write down your estimated grades
  4. Have a good look at those grades, have you been honest? What message will that give an employer or college. THINK about this now - YOU STILL HAVE TIME TO CHANGE THOSE! Wouldn't it be brilliant to revisit your CV in a year and change all those D's to B's?
  5. Hobbies - write down all the things you enjoy in your spare time - there are probably skills in there you hadn't thought about (play in a football team? that means you are a TEAM PLAYER)

Plenary (10 mins)

Work with a friend to look over each others information and give them an honest opinion, would that information make you want to employ them?
